Heavy rainfall recorded in many parts of Rajasthan

Jaipur, There was heavy to very heavy rainfall in many parts of Rajasthan on Tuesday, with Sawai Madhopur recording 143 mm downpour in a span of 24 hours, the highest in the state.

According to the Meteorological Centre here, light to moderate rain occurred at most places in the districts of Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions, while heavy to very heavy showers were witnessed at some places in Sawai Madhopur, Dholpur and Alwar districts since Monday.

While the maximum rainfall was recorded in Sawai Madhopur, Bari Dholpur recorded 90 mm downpour, Kotkasim (Alwar) 80 mm and Basedi (Dholpur) 71 mm.

The weather department has predicted light to moderate showers at isolated places in the state on July 21-22. It is likely to remain almost dry in the remaining parts, it said.

During this period, thunderstorms are likely in Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts. On July 22-23, good rain is likely at some places of Kota, Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions of the state, the Met said. PTI
