Gur (jaggery) prices ended steady at the wholesale market in the national capital today after prices hovering both ends on limited alternate exchange of buying and selling, pegged same on last levels.
In contrast, Muzaffarnagar gur market revealed an up trend on the back of shortage of stocks amid speculative buying, registered gains up to Rs 150 per quintal.
Marketmen said scarcity of stocks on restricted arrivals due to adverse weather conditions amid better offtake, led to the the rise in gur prices at Muzaffarnagar.
In Muzaffarnagar, gur Khura was the prominent gainer,
which spurted by Rs 150 to Rs 2,250-2,350 from Rs 2,150-2,200 per quintal.
Gur Laddoo and Chakku also moved up from Rs 2,400-2,525 and Rs 2,250-2,500 to end at Rs 2,450-2,550 and Rs 2,250-2,525, showing a profit of up to Rs 50 per quintal.

Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,600-2,700, dhayya
Rs 2,800-2,900 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,100-2,150, chakku Rs 2,250-2,525, khurpa Rs 2,250-2,350 and Ladoo Rs 2,450- 2,550.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,400 and dhayya Rs 2,400-2500.
