Coriander futures rise on spot demand

Coriander prices on Thursday rose Rs 44 to Rs 6,490 per quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings tracking firm trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for August delivery went up Rs 44, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 6,490 per quintal with an open interest of 2,440 lots.

Coriander for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 54, or 0.83 per cent at Rs 6,570 per quintal with an open interest of 2,015 lots.

A firm trend in spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up coriander prices here, market analysts said. PTI
