Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Thursday fell Rs 52 to Rs 6,472 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for August delivery fell by Rs 52, or 0.8 per cent, to Rs 6,472 per five quintal in 1,735 lots.

Guar gum for September delivery decreased by Rs 41, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 6,540 per five quintal in 47,020 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices. PTI
