Guar seed futures fall on low demand

Guar seed prices fell by Rs 47 to Rs 4407.5 per 10 quintal in futures trade Friday on liquidated holdings by the operators in line with a weak trend at the spot market.

Marketmen attributed the fall in guar seed to low demand amid increasing supplies from growing regions in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed delivery for June contracts fell by Rs 47, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 4407.5 per 10 quintal, depicting an open interest of 1,15,770 lots.

Similarly, the seed for delivery in July contracts shed Rs 59.5, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 4466.5 per 10 quintal with an open interest of 14,850 lots
