Soybean futures slip on muted demand

Soybean prices on Wednesday fell by Rs 14 to Rs 3,814 per quintal in futures market as participants cut down their positions on weak spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean contracts for June delivery fell by Rs 14, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 3,814 per quintal with an open interest of 12,030 lots.

Soybean for July delivery went down by Rs 14, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 3,708 per quintal with an open interest of 64,215 lots.

The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was mostly due to reduction of exposure by participants, marketmen said. PTI
