New Delhi.A large amount of soybean oil flows into India from Nepal, ignoring the rules of origin, hurting domestic industries and farmers.

SEA recommends importing through some PSUs such as Nafed and distributing oil to the disadvantaged groups of society through the public distribution system.

The association stated that without reducing the country’s overall import tariffs, the government will be able to obtain zero-tariff oil from Nepal in a more standardized way, which can provide comfort to disadvantaged groups.
