Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Friday fell Rs 135 to Rs 6,128 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for August delivery fell by Rs 135, or 2.16 per cent, to Rs 6,128 per five quintal in 31,960 lots.

Guar gum for September delivery decreased by Rs 133, or 2.1 per cent to Rs 6,206, per five quintal in 16,665 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions mainly exerted pressure on guar gum prices. PTI
