Wheat remains weak
Wheat prices drifted further lower by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake by flour mills against ample stocks position.
Maize also eased on subdued demand from consuming industries.
Traders said besides reduced offtake by flour mills, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing regions, mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) shed another Rs 5 to Rs 1,745-1,750 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 1,750-1,755 per 90 kg.
Other bold grain, maize also fell by Rs 20 to Rs 1,360-1,365 per quintal.
