Chana futures remain weak
Chana prices went down by 0.73 per cent to Rs 3,694 per quintal in futures market today as participants engaged in trimming positions amid easing demand from dal mills in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts weighed on prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June fell by Rs 27, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 3,694 per quintal with an open interest of 17,880 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in May lost Rs 22, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 3,657 per quintal in 99,720 lots.
Analysts said, offloading of positions by participants, driven by subdued demand from dal mills in the physical markets against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions, kept chana prices down at futures trade.
