Coriander futures rise on spot demand

Coriander prices on Thursday rose Rs 36 to Rs 6,848 per quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings tracking firm trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for September delivery went up Rs 36, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 6,848 per quintal with an open interest of 3,495 lots.

Coriander for delivery in October traded higher by Rs 42, or 0.61 per cent at Rs 6,936 per quintal with an open interest of 1,550 lots.

A firm trend in spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up coriander prices here, market analysts said. PTI
