Coriander futures rise on spot demand

Coriander prices on Friday rose Rs 44 to Rs 6,724 per quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings tracking firm trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for September delivery went up Rs 44, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 6,724 per quintal with an open interest of 4,000 lots.

Coriander for delivery in October traded higher by Rs 54, or 0.8 per cent at Rs 6,800 per quintal with an open interest of 420 lots.

A firm trend in spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up coriander prices here, market analysts said. PTI
