Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Wednesday fell nearly 4 per cent to Rs 4,965 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for May delivery fell by Rs 206, or 3.98 per cent, to Rs 4,965 per five quintal in 40,390 lots.

Guar gum for June delivery eased by Rs 208, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 5,006 per five quintal in 4,330 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices. PTI
