Between April 2020 and August 2020, the country’s spice exports reached 100.06 billion rupees, an increase of 15% from the 885.806 billion rupees in the same period last year. According to sources, from April 2020 to August 2020, total exports of spices increased to 5.7 million tons, compared with 4,94,120 tons in the same period in 2019. Chili is still the most exported spice, with an export volume of 2.105 million tons, worth 287.6 billion rupees. A source from the Spice Committee said on Thursday that Cumin followed closely with 1,33,000 tons worth Rs 187,370 crore, with volume and value increasing by 30% and 19%, respectively.
