Punjab mustard prices hit a record high

On Sunday, the price of mustard at the open market in the Abohar district of Fazilka district was 6,800 rupees per quintal, which was 32% higher than this year’s minimum support price (MSP) and the highest price ever for crops in Punjab.

Since the government is not involved in the procurement of crops, only private companies buy mustard in the state. Farmers say this is the second consecutive year that the mustard rate has exceeded MSP.
