Soybean futures slip on muted demand

Soybean prices on Tuesday fell by Rs 26 to Rs 3,912 per quintal in futures market as participants cut down their positions on weak spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean contracts for June delivery fell Rs 26, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 3,912 per quintal with an open interest of 37,965 lots.

Soybean for July delivery went down by Rs 24, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 3,848 per quintal with an open interest of 53,135 lots.

The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was mostly due to reduction of exposure by participants, marketmen said. PTI
