Turmeric futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi, Turmeric prices on Friday rose Rs 306 to Rs 10,132.0 per quintals in the futures trade after speculators increased their positions driven by a firm trend at the spot market. On the National Commodity and Derivatives
Exchange, Turmeric for February contracts increased Rs306, or 3.15 per cent, to Rs 10,132.0 per quintals with an open interest of 9985 lots.
According to marketmen, raising of bets by speculators tracking a firm trend in the spot market on thin supplies from growing belts mainly led to a rise inTurmeric prices here.
